About Office of the Surface
What’s it all about?
Office of the Surface is a weekly beauty newsletter that answers the question, “Is this any good?”
Here, writer, editor and founder Jamie Rosen will be focusing only on the good stuff and ignoring the mediocre, informed by deep beauty knowledge and delivered with a light touch. Expect vetted products, adventures in aesthetics, spa sleuthing, and honest takes on what actually works, from serums to surgery.
Why should I subscribe?
This substack is inspired by beauty text messages from family, friends, and friends of friends. It’s to-the-point guidance and recommendations, things like doctor recommendations, the best facials in NYC, luxury hand soap aside from the usual suspects, and what destination spa is worth the plane ride.
When you subscribe, you can comment, ask questions, and expect more in-depth reported pieces. You’ll also eventually be privy to more behind-the-scenes procedure-related content, beauty travel guides, and full access to the newsletter and publication archives.
What are you looking for? What are you deciding between? Ask a question or leave a comment and I’ll aim to answer it in a future post.
There will be many product recommendations, as well as a shame-free space to discuss all things beauty.
A love of beauty is so often cast aside as superficial and unimportant. Office of the Surface believes the exact opposite. Beauty can be something that moves you, something that exists in nature or is created with intention. It can be a point of inspiration, elevation and connection. The type of beauty that we respond to is something that is born from depth, even if it’s as seemingly surface level as a lip gloss. It’s all part of the conversation.
